Wednesday, November 22, I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God.

The Holy Spirit inspired our blog.

Memorial of Saint Cecilia, Virgin, and Martyr

Response:  Lord, when your glory appears, my joy will be full.

Hear, O LORD, a just suit;

attend to my outcry;

hearken to my prayer from lips without deceit.

Response:

My steps have been steadfast in your paths,

my feet have not faltered.

I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God;

incline your ear to me; hear my word.

Response:

Keep me as the apple of your eye;

hide me in the shadow of your wings.

But I in justice shall behold your face;

on waking, I shall be content in your presence.

Response:

Emphasis mine: Ps 17:1bcd, 5-6, 8b and 15

Today is exciting.  For the first time, we had two quotes that jumped out at me.

The quote we are using and, Lord, when your glory appears, my joy will be full.

What I, yes I, realized was after I started calling on the Lord, through our Weeeeeeee Prayers and Thanking God for everything happening in our life, I am now expecting God will answer me.

Answering me is a whole new relationship.

Not one that was built in one day, but one that has taken years, and the effort has been worth it.

satan, of course, over the years has tried to convince me that what we were doing was a waste of time, “God won’t answer a particular prayer, I was told, but God did, maybe not in the time frame I wanted, or in the way I wanted, but God answered my prayers.

In answering my prayers, I was filled with Joy!

And,

Guess what?

I want more Joy!

So, I asked God over a period of time to become more active in my now our life.

In answering my prayers, we started to build a relationship, which is what God wants in the first place.

We all should know about the relationship God desires because Jesus said,  For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother.” Matthew 12: 50

Wow!

It doesn’t get any closer than that!

Doing the will of God the Father is easier once you fully understand that God has your back.  You learn this by asking God into every aspect of your life, so it now becomes our life; as you start to fully appreciate that God is a God of Outrageous Love, all you can want is an even closer relationship.

And then, you will quickly say,

Lord, when your glory appears, my joy will be full.

We suggest three relationship-building prayers this quarter if you want to join and grow in Team Jesus.

  •  Weeeeeeeee,  say this prayer every time you and God interact.  For example, Weeeeeee made a great meal, Weeeee played a good game of …, Weeeeeee didn’t handle this very well, etc.
  • Thank you, Father; say this all day, every day, for all the Father is doing in your life.  If something really good happens, say this multiple times with enthusiasm.  When I was told my Basal Cell had disappeared, I said the Thank You prayer at least fifty times as I walked out of the doctor’s office.
  • I’m Fantastic;  anytime anyone asks how you are, tell them you are Fantastic.  I believe you are who you say you are. You have every reason to be Fantastic and no reason not to be. If you can’t think of a reason to be Fantastic, thank God for the difficulty, and God will provide you with the reasons.

Sidebar:

It’s Wednesday, and yes, again, the Holy Spirit hadn’t revealed to me what The Holy Spirit wanted to write about in the Sidebar until at Mass, and I couldn’t wait to come back and start typing.

Today, I am celebrating eighty-three years of life, and the question that went through my mind at Mass was, what was the most important second day in my life?

The first day was the day I was born.

The second day could have been getting married to Gail, followed by the birth of our sons, or their getting married, or the birth of our grandchildren,

No,

The second most important day in my life was the day I was Baptized.

On that day, I became a living Temple that could Walk, Talk, Laugh, Cry, and most importantly, Love God, who Created me and all the people God has brought into our life.  On that day, I received the Grace needed to fight anger, hate, envy, and pride, to mention just a few, and start to grow in a life filled with Love, Joy, and Peace.

Over the past years, I have realized that my relationship with God is NOT static but dynamic and constantly evolving.

Thank You, Father, for Your Love and Patience.

THE MYSTERIES OF THE MESSIAH by Rabbi Jason Sobel

By eating from the tree, Adam and Eve demonstrated a lack of Faith.  They failed to trust the Lord to be the provider of every good thing they needed.

Wow!

This ties in directly with what we were talking about: the nine who didn’t return to say thank you.

God working in our life!

We are pointing this out because my prior life was a lack of Faith, which is now obvious to me, but it has taken a lot of thanking God for all God has, is, and I am confident will do in our life to arrive at this new point.

I WILL NOT be one of the nine who were healed and didn’t return to give thanks and praise.

Gail and I want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving for me, has always been my favorite holiday.

Thanksgiving is a love day.

There are no gifts; the only gift is the love for each other that we bring to the day and the table.

This is the First Thanksgiving in over fifty years that Gail and I will not be hosting the Thanksgiving dinner.

We finally realized we were too old, and it was time to pass the baton.

I am thankful for the past fifty years and embrace the change.

Happy Thanksgiving!
