Wednesday, March 12, and your Holy Spirit take not from me

The Holy Spirit inspired our blog.

First Week of Lent

R. (19b) A heart contrite and humbled, O God, you will not spurn.

Have mercy on me, O God, in your goodness;

in the greatness of your compassion wipe out my offense.

Thoroughly wash me from my guilt

and of my sin cleanse me.

R.

A clean heart create for me, O God,

and a steadfast spirit renew within me.A

Cast me not out from your presence,

and your Holy Spirit take not from me.

R.

For you are not pleased with sacrifices;

should I offer a burnt offering, you would not accept it.

My sacrifice, O God, is a contrite spirit;

a heart contrite and humbled, O God, you will not spurn.

R.

What a surprise today is.  I was reading the readings and when I reached the bolded texts I stopped, and your Holy Spirit take not from me. Not being a biblical scholar I checked with Google and confirmed my suspicion, Holy Spirit, that King David wrote Psalm 51.

Why did I check this out, and by the way, I have a program that allows me to check multiple Bibles at the same time BibleGateway.com because I didn’t believe the Jewish People knew about the Holy Spirit, and low and behold the five Bibles I checked all had the exact same line.

I’m wrong!

But

The Holy Spirit wasn’t infused into their Souls at Baptism as the Holy Spirit is with us.

Question?

I found it very interesting that David would plead that, and your Holy Spirit take not from me.

We, you and I, don’t say this prayer.

In fact, in Mass, I have never heard this prayer said, except when this Psalm is read, and we have the Holy Spirit infused in our Souls at Baptism.

Further research, this is a very different blog, (Holy Spirit) King David wrote Psalm 51 AFTER he had committed adultery and murder, and had been confronted by the Prophet Nathen. If you want to learn more about what we are referring to, read 2 Samuel 11-12.

I was drawn to this reading because at a point in my, yes my, life I told God,”NO,”when God told me to sell the group health insurance that accounted for forty percent of our income, because of abortion on demand, and the Holy Spirit withdrew from me for three days, holy number, and I experienced life without The Holy Spirit and it was HELL!

After Mass, I presented my problem to Msgr. Henchal and he said, “Drop the group,” I thought, “Wrong Priest,” but on Monday started doing as The Holy Spirit told me, and gradually over weeks started to grow back in the Love, Joy, and Peace of the Holy Spirit.

I learned that if God wants something, that being doing the Father’s will at a particular time in your life, God, plays rough, if you don’t do your Father’s will!

What also fascinated me about today’s reading was, The Holy Spirit asked me to check a number of different Bibles to see how many times the term “Spirit World” was mentioned.

ZERO!

To my surprise, it is never mentioned as a term.

So first I have to apologize to all of you for using a term that doesn’t exist in the Bible, and change, and the change will be to the “Spirit of Truth.”

the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.  John 14:17

We started this blog with the statement, “What a surprise this day is” and I now fully realize, as do you, how true that statement is.  I will also tell you that I am pumped because of today’s blog.  I, yes, I, have learned a lot, and we both have had the chance to see The Holy Spirit working actively in my, and we pray, your life too.

Prayer:

I thank You, Father, for the death of Your Son, the Nails that were driven through His Hands, and the Nail that was driven through His Feet (Once).

(Now you can respond YES to the question IF YOU thank Me)

Next, pray,

Thank You, Father, for the DIFFICULTY of …(name the difficulty)….. That You have ALLOWED in my life, I have Faith You will take care of me.” Say this part of the prayer until you smile

Sidebar:

As I was reading trying to find where spirt world was mentioned I read why I believe the term isn’t used.

Testing the Spirits. Beloved, do not trust every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.  Emphasis mine 1 John 4:1

and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus does not belong to God. This is the spirit of the antichrist that, as you heard, is to come, but in-fact is already in the world.  Emphasis mine 1 John 4:3

In my life, I do test the spirits to try and ensure the spirit talking to me is The Spirit of Truth, and sadly I have listened to wrong voices, as we have reported, and as soon as I realize it is the wrong voice I tell satan to, “Get behind me,” and ask The Spirit of Truth to come back into our life, and take me where They want me to go.

Which we have just done.

Today’s blog is a great demonstration of the battle that rages in all of our lives daily.

As we have reported many times this is a constant fight
