The Holy Spirit inspired our blog.
Wednesday of the Fifteenth Week in Extraordinary Time
At that time Jesus exclaimed:
“I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to the childlike.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
No one knows the Son except the Father,
and no one knows the Father except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”
Mt 11: 25-27
I believe we wrote about this in prior years, and yet the Holy Spirit just opened my, yes, my eyes to a new twist.
We have been discussing growing in FAITH and how important Faith is in our lives.
I think the wise and learned run the risk of overthinking what is going on in their lives.
For example, in the New Testament, Jesus talks about the Love of a neighbor, and a scribe asks who their neighbor is.
The question prompts the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Lk 10: 25-37
Christianity is easy.
It has to be.
Christianity existed long before the masses could readily access a Bible, letters from St. Paul, etc.
What could People do?
Have Faith that a God of Outrageous Love would take care of them.
In our life, I have changed a prayer we have asked you to learn and pray because of my newfound knowledge of Faith.
I now pray, Thank you, Father, for the Difficulty of…….. Name the difficulty….. I have FAITH you will take care of me.
I realized (The Holy Spirit) that when I prayed, “I know you will take care of me,” this was not the same as saying, “I have FAITH that you will take care of me.”
In earlier blogs, we stated that I was “Fantastic,” by saying this and thinking about it, I became “Fantastic.” Many people we meet say they are “Good, O.K., could be better, and so on.” They are not filled with Joy and only have themselves to blame because they are what they say they are.
I, yes, I also believe that turning your life into a life of Faith that God will take care of you brings you into a greater childlike relationship with the Triune God.
A prayer you might consider learning
Lord, my heart is not proud;
nor are my eyes haughty.
I do not busy myself with great matters,
with things too sublime for me.
Rather, I have stilled my soul,
Like a weaned child to its mother,
weaned is my soul.
I hope in the Lord,
now and forever.
Psalm 131

You may be wondering what the picture of the grill is all about.
Gail and I bought a grill thirty years ago. I tuned it up every year and replaced the necessary parts.
This year, it died!
For some reason (the Holy Spirit), I didn’t get around to cleaning it until Sunday, July 7, and it was then I realized it had to be replaced; the Holy Spirit whispered, “It’s Sunday, remember, no shopping, and the computer stays off.”
I agreed, but the Holy Spirit suggested we call Dick.
We have to go back fifty-six years when I was remodeling our only bathroom and had taken out the toilet and didn’t have a clue as to how to put a new one in. I called Dick, and he said he would come down and solve the problem. Dick showed up in a tuxedo because they were going to a wedding very shortly. Notice the timing. The Holy Spirit working in my life. The sad part of the story was I didn’t know the Holy Spirit and didn’t realize God was working in my, yes, my life. The toilet was set in place and was working when Dick left.
Fifty-six years later, Dick works at a hardware store that sells grills. My question, when I called Dick, was, would they deliver and pick up the old grill?
Dick said, “I have a better idea. I fixed up a grill for a friend who just died, and I will give it to you.”
Dick also said some very kind personal words that I would keep between us, and I left wondering what was going on.
That night Gail told me Dick’s wife had very positive news about medical tests that the results were positive, and prayers, Gails and Mine, were answered.
I was brought to tears then and now as I type this.
The lesson learned again:
So do not worry and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear?’ All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness,[s] and all these things will be given you besides. Mt 6: 31-33
Always remember:
God has taken care of you.
So have FAITH that God is taking care of you.
And have FAITH that God will take care of you.
You are that special!
