The Holy Spirit inspired our blog.
Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children
Jesus entered the synagogue.
There was a man there who had a withered hand.
They watched Jesus closely
to see if he would cure him on the sabbath
so that they might accuse him.
He said to the man with the withered hand,
“Come up here before us.”
Then he said to the Pharisees,
“Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil,
to save life rather than to destroy it?”
But they remained silent.
Looking around at them with anger
and grieved at their hardness of heart,
Jesus said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.”
He stretched it out and his hand was restored.
The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel
with the Herodians against him to put him to death.
Emphasis mine Mark 3:1-6
“And grieved at their hardness of heart.” This sentence jumped out at me. I do believe God did and does grieve at the hardness of our hearts.
The problem I believe is we want to live away from God and live with satan. I am sure some of you are scratching your heads, and asking, “Where are they going with this?”
I bring communion daily to a man who has been very sick. I recently told him that I originally thought I would bring Communion once a week, but the Holy Spirit said we would bring him communion daily, and we have.
We talked about the healing process that is available by taking communion.
But,
That process may not be a bolt of lightning coming down and setting everything straight, although I have experienced instant healings, and know and have reported about others that have had instant healings.
Most of the time the healing process takes time, and this is important to force the person being healed to keep their eye on the goal.
When we mentioned this he responded, “Yes I am better but I can’t wait to get back to work.”
We jumped all over him. “Celebrate what you have, don’t complain about what you don’t have.” As I left his house I realized this is a common response many make all the time. They have taken for granted what they have, and are not appreciative of what they have until it is taken away. Instead, they are looking forward to what life will be like with the things they don’t.
This is worshiping a god of the future, who doesn’t exist. Excuse me, that’s satan!
Last week we talked about living and celebrating life in the NOW.
Sunday I saw him coming from church, driving his truck, and he was smiling, and in the best shape I had seen him in in the many months we have been bringing him communion.
Update: I brought communion Monday 1/16/25, and he told me with a great big smile that he was back to work, has accepted the pain, and is moving on. You could have knocked me over with a feather. After Communion, we gave thanks and praise to God the Father and celebrated his remarkable change.
Your life will become FANTASTIC when you live in the NOW, because you will be directly tied into the Triune God, and they will not be grieving, but celebrating your wise decision.
“I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.”Lk 15: 7
Prayer:
The Fruit of The Holy Spirit:
You grow in LOVE, JOY, AND PEACE by growing in PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GENEROSITY, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS, SELF-CONTROL. Learn these nine words in order and say them daily, and you will see a difference in your life.
Sidebar:
We are reading, for the fourth time, Mysteries of The Messiah by Rabbi Jason Sobel.
Two thoughts:
One: God created us to be worshipers of them. The Garden of Eden was to be cultivated by Adam and Eve, but the word cultivate didn’t mean physical work, Jewish Rabbies determined the term meant, Adam and Eve and you and I were created to be Priests through worshiping The Triune God and obeying The Father’s Commandments.
The Garden was to be our Tabernacle, but due to the fall, work replaced our worship.
Man’s original call to become priests was restored when God gave Israel the Torah at Sinai and called His people to be a “Kingdom of Priests and a holy nation.” Emphasis mine Ex 19:6
Tim Gray today on The Formed said King David was anointed by Samuel with oil. Jesus was Anointed by John the Baptist with water. In Israel at that time the kings were anointed with oil. Jesus’ anointing with water made Jesus a King, A King of the whole world, and when we are anointed through Baptism, and we receive the same Spirit as Jesus received, we become beloved children just as Jesus did when He was Baptized.
Two: When Adam and Eve were created they were created in the image of God; satan before our creation was at the top of God’s creation, but that status changed when Adam and Eve were created.
I knew this, but I was reminded of this important fact when I reread it.
I, yes, I, have to be reminded from time to time just how special we all are in the eyes of God. Jesus dying on the Cross makes all of what God has and is going through to get us to wake up to what our status with them is. This should be a cause for continual celebration on our part, which once again, makes me fully believe that I’m FANTASTIC.
How about you?
