Wednesday August 11, 2021: Faith, Trust, and Asking

This is my first reflection with the community and I am excited to be able to share! “Since then, never has there been such a prophet in Israel as Moses, the man the Lord knew face to face.” I find myself re-reading this line over and over. This sentence is extremely powerful to me as I continue to want and build a personal and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. There is no denying that through Christ Moses was able to perform some incredible wonders. These wonders were only possible by the extreme faith and trust that he had in God.

This is the faith and trust I seek and pray for daily in my personal life. Deuteronomy 34:1-12 reminds me that there is nothing too big for God. There is nothing that God cannot do. When I reflect on this verse, I wonder if I am asking big enough. When I see what God was able to do through Moses, I wonder if he could do the same for anyone with that level of faith and trust. That includes you and I. For me, it is easy to say I would like to know the Lord face to face as did Moses. It is a bit more challenging in the whirlwind of a day and week to have that faith throughout. This is something I am continuing to work for and pursue day in and out.

As I continue to pursue my journey of faith, I am realizing more and more the importance of others that are on a similar path. When I had initially began to read the bible and walk with Christ, I had embarked on this alone. I did not share with my family or friends. I did not even share with my wife at first. I just started reading the bible and praying and believing. I started reading every single morning before I started my day. It was not until I began to confess my love of the Lord to those closest around me that I had started to see and feel the power sharing the good word. What started with those closest to me had spilled over into work as well. And although I am not quoting scripture to my co-workers, I do make it a point to speak blessings into their lives.

‘I tell you solemnly once again, if two of you on earth agree to ask anything at all, it will be granted to you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three meet in my name, I shall be there with them.’ This is a reminder for me to continue to take the next step and continue to pray with others. I would love to find smaller groups in person to gather and talk about Jesus. I can do more volunteering. I can join more private groups online. These are just a few to name. Everyone’s journey is different but the faith and trust in God and his plan will allow us to grow together.

I am reminded of that throughout todays readings. God will work wonders. Wonders so amazing and grand we cannot even comprehend. Our Faith and confidence in the Lord should be shared with those around us. Because when we come together and ask in the Lord’s name we will be answered. Knowing that, lets ask BIG.
