Wednesday, April 2, whoever believes in me will never die.

The Holy Spirit inspired our blog.

Wednesday of the Fourth Week of Lent

Reading before the Gospel.

I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord;

whoever believes in me will never die.

Emphasis mine John 11: 25a.26

Gospel:

Jesus answered the Jews:

“My Father is at work until now, so I am at work.”

For this reason they tried all the more to kill him,

because he not only broke the sabbath

but he also called God his own father, making himself equal to God.

Jesus answered and said to them,

“Amen, amen, I say to you, the Son cannot do anything on his own,

but only what he sees the Father doing;

for what he does, the Son will do also.

For the Father loves the Son

and shows him everything that he himself does,

and he will show him greater works than these,

so that you may be amazed.

For just as the Father raises the dead and gives life,

so also does the Son give life to whomever he wishes.

Nor does the Father judge anyone,

but he has given all judgment to the Son,

so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father.

Whoever does not honor the Son

does not honor the Father who sent him.

Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears my word

and believes in the one who sent me

has eternal life and will not come to condemnation,

but has passed from death to life.

Amen, amen, I say to you, the hour is coming and is now here

when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God,

and those who hear will live.

For just as the Father has life in himself,

so also he gave to the Son the possession of life in himself.

And he gave him power to exercise judgment,

because he is the Son of Man.

Do not be amazed at this,

because the hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs

will hear his voice and will come out,

those who have done good deeds

to the resurrection of life,

but those who have done wicked deeds

to the resurrection of condemnation.

“I cannot do anything on my own;

I judge as I hear, and my judgment is just,

because I do not seek my own will

but the will of the one who sent me.”

Emphasis mine  John 5: 17-30

This once again is a different blog.

We are putting in Bold whoever believes in me will never die, because this succinctly sums up what we underlined.

We also included the underlined area to remind you that what we are talking about is NOT my thinking but, was stated by St. John in his Gospel.

One:  Jesus claims that He Jesus never did, and we will add, said, only what he saw his Father doing and saying.

Once I fully realized this I accepted the FACT Jesus didn’t sin.

If in my life I only did what my Dad and Mother asked me to do, life would have been a lot easier. At times in my life, I listened to satan , and didn’t do as my parents asked.

We all did.

Jesus didn’t!

Two:  We have to remind ourselves that Jesus will JUDGE us, not God the Father, and we have to remind ourselves that Jesus said from HIS CROSS, “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do” Emphasis mine Luke 23: 34

And,

“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus replied, “Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” Emphasis mine Luke 23:42-43

Saturdays, I go to a men’s faith group, and The Holy Spirit reminds me to tell the men in that group the above-bolded words that Jesus said, just before he died.

Rabbi Jason Sobel wrote, a person’s last words are most important, and I believe the Son Of God The Father, His last words would absolutely fit in this category.

Third: I do believe, Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears my word

and believes in the one who sent me

has eternal life and will not come to condemnation,

but has passed from death to life.

We have gone a bit further by refining life as filled with Love, Joy, and Peace,

And,

whoever believes in me will never die.

Prayer:

If you want to grow in Love, Joy, and Peace this is a result of growth in Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Kindness, and Self-Control.

Sidebar:

We are reading the entire Bible in a year, once again, and we reading the New Testament in its chronological order, as presented by Father Thomas Berg, a Catholic Priest in the Archdiocese of New York, (I just learned this).

The letter of Saint James is where we are now.

Saint James I love, is a no-nonsense writer, and what I read today fits in beautifully with Today’s blog.

Perseverance in Trial.  Consider it all JOY my brothers, when you encounter various trials, for you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. And let perseverance be perfect, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (Underlined, Capitilazed, and emphasis mine.  James 1: 2-4

According to Webster: Perseverance is the continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition

Wow!!!!!!

In one blog we have covered everything we have discussed for the past three-plus years, and it continues with the picture.

Ever since we started writing our blog, I have wanted to take a picture of a pod in the Cumberland County Jail.  A picture of a pod was hanging on the wall in the lobby, and the Holy Spirit said, “Take a picture of the picture.”  I next asked for permission to use the picture in our blog, the first person said,”No.” I requested to go to a higher authority and he said, “Yes.”

Why the picture?

The reason jumped out at me, The Holy Spirit, and it fits in beautifully with today’s blog.

Everyone is captive to something, for the men in the Jail most to alcohol, and drugs.

How about you?

Is it anger, fear, lust, greed, I’ve done enough, denial, I won’t forgive, my will not yours, not living in the now with I AM, pride, envy,

or,

are you living in the Fruit of The Holy Spirit and have you left jail by living in The Spirit of Truth?

Please keep Snapping!

Email me if you want a copy of the prayers we discussed.

Remember, if you want to submit a picture, please do not include people. We have to get permission from that person to use their photograph.
