You are no longer strangers and sojourners,
but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones
and members of the household of God,
built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets,
with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone.

Todays reading made me smile and giggle a bit. So this sunday, I happen to sleep in and woken up 15 minutes to mass. While I raced through a quick shower and dressed , I drove through the roads , I was stuck at red lights twice but managed to make it in time for the Homily ( not my best moment!!!) As I parked and ran up the stairs and panted into the church, a senior man, (usher) came to check my temperature ( pandemic SOP!) and slyly whispers to me, ” You are so late. you wish to attend half of mass ?” While my adrenaline was quick to change to give a smart wit reply to the man, I didnt! I did roll my eyes though ( sorry!) . As the Church is built upon the foundation of the faith laid by Apostles and the prophets, we are all called to join in the faithful and praise and worship our Lord. That is what I ran to do that morning!

Through him the whole structure is held together
and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord;
in him you also are being built together
into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Today is the feast of St Jude, who as per literature( and wikipedia ) was confused for Judas Iscariot and chastised until he carved his own identity with the Lord as his apostle and spread the word and build the foundation of His church so much so to be made the patron saint of hopeless causes! Well all of us do get desperate and have been in that hopelessness some point in our lives .. maybe big like a tragic death or terminal illness or as small as arriving late for sunday mass !

But I know we all are welcomed into the Lord, cause He even picked a saint for such occasions and people!! How lucky are we!

Let us surrender our desperate needs at the feet of the Lord via intercession of St Jude and Mother Mary, and find hope in despair of our earthly lives (and never get late to church! )

PRAYER:

Dearest St Jude, Thank you for being our last resort for such situations. I ask for my situation be led up to the Lord such that He helps me figure out the way and lead me to the end of the same. I ask for your support in my life along with Mama Mary through the hard times!

AMEN!
