Who then is this about whom I hear such things?”
And he kept trying to see him

I love when that would be a line said about me ! I am vain … Jokes aside. Often when my friends from other denominations or faiths ask me about mine, I get a little tongue tied and confused how to explain concepts in simple terms.

Best method to explain about Jesus would be a version of God who came to earth and died for our sinful ways… but when I try to explain the Lord to my inner self I often realise , I have not understood about Him enough to grasp it all.

While I tried listening to discussions and read about the word and make sense with what I do on a daily basis, it doesn’t. I would just listen to my intuition and my mother. I tend to confuse the right way with the world’s way but often I know better to be smart and protect my integrity and mental health by avoiding certain people and circumstances at work orin my personal life.

Last weekend,I returned home to witness the beauty of marriage of a dear childhood friend who has an unwavering faith in Mother Mary and Jesus. While she would often be the sick child during our school days with asthma attacks and numerous hospital visits, she grew into a lovely woman with absolute faith and found her prince charming after so much search and prayers. I watched her be persistent in her faith and pursuit of a good partner and now make a beautiful bride.

As Herod kept trying to see Jesus , we need to do the same for the correct reasons though. We need to see the Lord for our faith, for our problems and happiness, we need to be persistent and cheerful when we seek Him and ensure our life is focused on the goal of attaining eternal life whilewe follow through world’s duties.

Tough Job, but Herod kept at it since Jesus was born…why can’t we?!

  1. Thank you Analise. Keep trying to see Him in our everyday day earthly lives. What an incredible but simple way to spend our time here. Jesus is out there waiting. We need only open our eyes and ears. Peace with you my sister.

  2. My sister is an anesthesiologist and has lost her faith due to sciences lack of proof. Im curious, as a doctor, do you or have you ever struggled with your faith? Is there any advice you could offer someone trying to regain their faith but being held back by a lack of proof?

  3. I liked trying to see Jesus. I try to do His will. I pray to Him. I forget to look for him. Thank you for the missing piece.

  4. Gabrielle,
There are some explanations and support of you go to the Catholic Answers website and look up science and faith. I listen to Relevant Radio a lot. I can’t remember the specific people they host but it is repeatedly said that the catholic church is not opposed to science in the least. Science supports catholic church teaching. I think of you d do am internet search you will find a lot of there. May God be with you!
