Today Jesus sends His disciples to follow His words and preach the Gospel to the WORLD.

As a doctor I have travelled alot over my own country India , which is a very large country. Every state has its own language and I have had a hard time trying to getting grasp of many … The dialects, the variations, the grammar leave me dumbfounded but I am trying my best to sort it out.

Presently I am in a state at southern most part of the country with a very different language and culture. while I find my self adjusting with way more than the language , I am adjusting to people getting used to the culture and even then church methods.. taking footwear off and no response to any prayers.

While people get upset on minor inconvenience caused when outside comfort zone, here the Lord himself asking and his disciplines of it. I always am amazed by the nuns and priests who live in vocation, adjust so much for the Lord …

In my country , when my name reveals my faith.. I am often asked alpt of questions. While my sense of fashion and food doesn’t match here.. I keep getting comments about them… I have beenbtaken to task for some random reasons due to misunderstandings and bullied alot but today shen I realised being faithful while staying TRUE to what you believe is the best way forward…

Today as someone away from my comfort zone, I look up to the disciples to get the strength and faith to be aware of what I am to do when faced with challenges and how to proclaim my faith everyday with language barrier.

AMEN.

  1. Thank you Analise. The disciples faced huge challenges going out into the world proclaiming the good news. Don’t we all in some small way encounter moments where we have a chance to put on our faith helping someone, giving words of encouragement ,doing charitable works. We just have be in that “Act” just like those early Apostles building the foundation of Christ. Peace with you my sister.

  2. Hello, Analise. I pray that you will navigate through those challenges! God bless you!

  3. Analyse,
You are a strong woman! Keep bringing your gifts from the Lord to others. Thank you for all you do, including CM.

  4. Thank you for taking the time to write this reflection Analise. It’s not easy being out of your comfort zone at any time, especially if the different environment is hostile and challenging.
May God continue to Bless you and keep you in His loving embrace.🙏🏻

  5. Analise, there are 1000s of migrant workers from India who work in sometimes terrible conditions, especially in the ME. Life is a daily struggle for them. Discrimination, being ridiculed and mistreated -this is common. They just put one foot forward and keep going.

  6. A good reflection, Dr deM. Merely a style point, but I appreciated your dropping the exclamation marks!!!.

You give us a perspective of a country where Christians are a minority. India is a great country. You show us that with respect and tolerance (which is not compromise) we can be ‘in the World, but not of the World’.
