I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing! There is a baptism with which I must be baptized, and how great is my anguish until it is accomplished

The Lord has such a great mission to evangelize everyone through his Son… alot of people did listen turn their ways and work into their lives to. Ach eternal life.

As someone born catholic and known no other way of life, I find it hard to evangelise without feeling a little silly and just follow the routine set for me as a child by my parents. Be it a mass on my birthday or confession before Christmas and lent … its been somethings I stick to .. and yes I am on a dim falme in my faith journey trying desperately to not let it smoke out… I am no where near the blazing fire… I watch those humans with blazing huns spreading the word of God and realise how over the top religiosity can backfire the mission.

As a catholic and knowing everyone catholic around me , it took alot out of my faith when I trained in an Indian classical dance form to learn to separate my passion for dance from my faith especially since most songs were based on hindu mythology … I learnt to appreciate people who didn’t believe in Christ and yet we have the best friendships.

As a catholic obgyn, I stood firm in refusing to do an abortion unless yes for duty purposes I was senior resident on call and it tore my soul to bits. I searched and changed jobs where my faith was not mocked and my beli3fs not discounted and patients never felt discouraged by my refusal… I finally joined oncology to realise that cancer is the ultimate battle and watching these women cling to their rosary makes me feel stronger in my faith.

Often I find myself praying for these women at church hoping they reach heavenly abode with minimal pain and suffering … maybe that is what Jesus means that he is anguished that not everyone wants to keep that faith especially when everything is going great.

I have seen people battle cancer including my dad and myself and come victorious with that unwavering faith. I know this baptism into the faith can make us change our ways and work hard to reach eternal life.

This 36th year of my life I want to be re baptised into the faith with renewed confidence and spread the word of the Lord everyday in everything I do.

Lets pray for everyone struggling in their life and ensure we are kind and show them the Christian way of being g ablaze in our faith to light up their soul with the flame ..

AMEN
