“See that you make everything
according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”
Now he has obtained so much more excellent a ministry
as he is mediator of a better covenant,
enacted on better promises.

I am a little overwhelmed this month – being the start of the year and I was just getting into a routine when I had to fly home for a wedding ceremony of a next door neighbor ( almost family) .. my routine was tossed out of the window. But the best part was visiting the newly constructed church at my village !

A little bit of history and context, as my state was colonized by the Portuguese for many years, we as natives were converted to Christianity and the villages had churches and chapels in abundance. While each geographical village has a Parish church and priests and villagers are always connected via all the events. The population in my village outgrew the size of the small church – so sunday mass was a tough one.

Its been 4 years, the entire village contributed to build this massive church complex with gorgeous architecture (although I love the older churches ) and it was the very first time and I could imagine Jesus preaching around it! While we are all asked to just stick to the commandments and pursue a better ministry and spread christ through our words and deeds.

its almost the end of the first month of a new year and I’m still struggling with my daily routine and prayers have taken a massive backseat .. It is time for me to respect the commandments especially the first and give the Lord all that He deserves. A lot of love, my time , my devotion and faith and stick to commandments of not pursuing other idols and coveting others achievements.

Pray for us Mother Mary!

AMEN

  1. Thank you Analise. I think we all break our routines as life gets in the way. It’s so important to have the conscious to know when your out of sync with the Lord…and it always feels good to get back on track. Pray is the way they say. Blessings my sister.

  2. Oh My Gosh Analise! God has a crazy love for us. Always has. Jesus came into this world to show us His love by giving us a new life. He told us in the Sermon on the Mount and gave us the Beatitudes. He told us these are how to live His commandants and covenant.

After having read your writings and listen to your daily life and activities (for years) I know God could use you as an example to all on how to live the Beatitudes and follow the Sermon on Mount!

  3. Such an honest reflection. How many times I’ve felt the same way! How many times I’ve fallen short of giving Him my time, picked myself up, and then fallen short again! He is forever merciful.

Annalise, I’d love to contribute daily reflections too. Could you please let me know if there is such a possibility and, if yes, how to go about it?

  4. Thank you Analise.Don’t forget that writing these reflections is also a way you honour the Lord.We are grateful for your efforts.
