All speech is labored;
there is nothing one can say.
The eye is not satisfied with seeing
nor is the ear satisfied with hearing

I agree with this statement!! We will never be satisfied… without poking our nose in all business other than ours! It has been my observation that everyone before the onset of social media or papparzzi has been so curious about the lives of every one else! … we dont seem satisfied when we compare ourselves to others , feel the need to constantly know others!

I have been away from social media with this exact reason in mind! Avoid people who have nothing to contribute to my life but gossip and chatter! I may sound selfish but I realise alot of our thoughts are reflection of what we consume – talk with others, media, books we read, people we spend time with!

While I make a conscious decision everyday to stay away from humans who do not contribute to my wellbeing or growth, I find them desperately searching for chances to re enter our lives- much like Satan! While I am focused on improving my personal prayer and building my self confidence, I absolutely detest anyone who doesnt understand the repeated signs by me of keeping distance! They want to enter and disrupt the happy calm and peaceful surrounding I have built with their negative ideas and talk.

I am sure we all have those people in our lives, constantly telling us to live a life they expect us to live – how we should behave and act in accordance to societal norms and never seem satisfied to be kept out of the loop! I shall pray for them to realise that we need to figure our life alone as we enter alone and we leave this world alone and focus on our faith on the Lord!

PRAYER:

As I ask you the faith to focus on you as my guiding light, help me to forgive those who constantly tell me otherwise! I ask you to grant them the wisdom to recognise the effect they have and stop trying to push their way into lives with false intentions!

AMEN.

  1. Thank you Analise. It’s difficult to keep away from all the negative, panic spreading, hate filled news and opinions and just listen to and read media that helps us love and trust Jesus.

  2. Thank you Analise. Trying to stay away from those individuals is difficult…keeping Jesus in the forefront can be difficult as well when we are surrounded by negative and pessimistic influence. Keep the Holy Spirit close… that is the best defense. Prayers and blessings my sister.

  3. Thank you Analise, so important to fill our hearts with love, joy and peace so that we can give it to others.

  4. What a great message for our world!
    God speaks to us in the silence of our hearts, help us all to remember. God bless you, Analise.

  5. I’ve never been on social media. I rarely watch the news except the headlines. Television etc. is pretty much out too. All for the same reasons you so passionately expressed in your reflection. Maybe that’s why I choose to read what you write. We are literally a world apart, and yet together in some wonderful ways. God Bless.

  6. Thank you, Analise! I find myself weakened by all the negativity that surrounds us, even though I don’t participate in social media. This reminds me of a conversation I had with my brother about this
    He said the best way to keep focused on positiveness is to make it a habit of including God in every deed and conversation we participate in. God bless you and your family, Analise!

  7. Scott, I agree with you and the others commenters. Analise you have the ability to see the complex realities of life and reduce them to simple straightforward actions. Maybe as Christ would have us do.
