So they picked up stones to throw at him;
but Jesus hid and went out of the temple area.

While my past week at work, felt this way . lies , statements of false accusations thrown my way by a person with so much dislike for me and anyone who remotely likes me… yes I never realised how my personality alone could affect someone so much to evoke hate !

So I do what my parents told me, just walk away from it all and surrender it at the Holy eucharist when Jesus transubstantiates! And lo and behold, I feel lighter, less stressed and above all I realise how much I dont want to indulge in any conversation involving the same person.

Often we have stones thrown at us , cause we are who we are – unapologetic for our values and what we believe in! And while I spoke of this issue with my wise mother, she reminded me it is Lenten season and I should take this as my lenten cross rather than just being vegetarian for 40 days.

And so I did!

Often times we forget that we have soo many crosses to bear and I found mine at work.. while some of us may have it home or wherever we do… we need to remember to carry it and put it at the feet of Jesus and surrender completely!

Let us in this last week of Lent before the passion of Christ surrender all are crosses and be relieved of it all!

AMEN

  1. Thank you Dr. Analise. I’m sorry you had to be at the receiving end of that person’s animosity but as you said very well: Lay at the foot of the Cross.

  2. Thank you Analise. Such an important message when so many of us are troubled. Bring it to the foot of the cross ✝️. Goodness will follow. Peace with you my sister.

  3. Analise,
    Sorry to hear about your work situation. I believe you handled it so well. And your wise mother made a great suggestion. Another reflection I read today put it this way: When you pray today, don’t focus only on your problems—focus on the problem solver as well! Expand the way you think about Jesus. Proclaim that he is God and can do all things.
    Peace.

  4. Thank you all for being the words of Jesus for me today. May the ever living God bring blessings and peace.

  5. Thank you Dr for this reflection of taking everything and surrender to Jesus. May we bear our crosses and lay them at His feet. Amen

  6. Thank you Analise for sharing your trials with us, and for sharing your mother’s wise counsel. I am retired but I recall how difficult work relationships can be. God put this colleague in your path for a purpose, and I believe he also put you in his/her path for a purpose. I will pray for both of you.

  7. I am sorry to hear of the negativity in your workplace. Thanks Jerry T for your comment to not focus on the problems but on the problem solver. I needed to hear that!
