My last day of work for the US Census will be today unless there is need for follow-up. I will then enter my fifth or sixth failed retirement. However, there is an eight week project at Church that I will volunteer. The younger people are all looking for other employment. I even have written a letter of recommendation for my immediate supervisor.
New adventures await all of us. From today’s Psalm He whose hands are sinless whose heart is clean who desires not what is vain. He shall receive a blessing from the Lord, a reward from God his savior.
It is my firm belief that the most valuable reward we have on this Earth is the Holy Spirit. This is the gift we received from Baptism. The more mature a person is in their faith, the more they depend on and use the Holy Spirit.
When a person is in touch with the Holy Spirit in their prayer life they become closer to God. Saint Paul writes in Ephesians 4 With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love, striving to preserve the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace; on Body and one Spirit. Most of the worlds problems revolve around people trying to go it alone. On Sunday I know what the ten commandments are but during the other six days of the week they are recommendations. No! No! That is not how it works.
Lord, this is the people that longs to see your face.
Even though we social distance, we are a community. We don’t do this alone. We have consciences that are fueled by the Holy Spirit. Jesus said we know them by their deeds. We are also known by our deeds. Why do you not judge for yourselves what is right?
True test! The Holy Spirit will not tell you to do something wrong or sinful. If we honestly follow the Spirit’s lead, we can hold our heads up high. However, we have to daily connect through prayer.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in us the fire of Thy love.
Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created.
And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray.
O God, Who didst instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Spirit,
grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in His consolation,
through Christ, our Lord. Amen
