I have a full tummy and feel very Thankful for all the blessings that I received this last liturgical year.
I saw the dead, both great and small, standing in front of his throne, while the book of life was opened, and other books opened which were the record of what they had done in their lives, by which the dead were judged.
While we the faithful on Earth are not being judged, we have a life story that we are writing each and every day on what we have done and what we have failed to do. Our book of life is still, being written.
What do you want written in that book?
Today is “Black Friday” and in the United States all focus is on the sales and gifts. In writing the book of your life how will you treat the store clerk or fellow customers. Will you treat them with respect? What will be written in our book?
Now let us talk about the elephant in the room. Family! I must admit I love them all but do not approve of their lifestyles. My ex-brother-in-law is in my mind a jerk. Nonetheless, I am the only one in the family that speaks to him. I have other relatives who knowingly are not following the commandments. I have relatives that have substance abuse and others that are just obnoxious. I can’t write their pages but I can encourage them, love them but not like them.
This new liturgical year is a new chapter in our book and we should start the year off right. We have new opportunities for Reconciliation and renewal. We have fresh pages and should have a renewed outlook on what will be written. The book of life is closed on the dead.
Your book is still being written.
Happy writing!
God Love You Always
