Depression, illness and disappointments in life can weigh us down. Then I will be their God, and they shall be my people. There will be no further need for neighbor to try to teach neighbor, or brother to say to brother, ‘Learn to know the Lord.’ No, they will all know me, the least no less than the greatest, since I will forgive their iniquities and never call their sins to mind.
Saint Francis de Sales was not a perfect person but came to the realization that he was a creature of God and was loved by God. His calm and thoughtful sermons and preaching helped and advised a Catholic faithful during the Calvinistic reformation in Geneva.
You, too, are loved by God!
My ex-brother-in-law and his children have a strained relationship. Surprise! they actually got together at Christmas. It was a start. I won’t bore you with the details but as an example. Your relationship to God only lacks you moving toward Him. He is waiting for you to come, because you are worth more that the treasure a woman swept her house to find. God wants a relationship to all of His creatures. He will forgive and never recall our sins. God loves my ex-brother-in-law and his children. With God’s forgiveness the past is buried and sins are forgotten.
It takes prayer to remain calm and not lose your temper with others and forgive. God will calmly and willing forgive us when we repent. Wow! That is why He is God and we are not. Nonetheless, we need to forgive and forget the offenses of others just as God forgives us. We are His creatures and worth it.
