Happy Valentines Day

Sometimes the people we love do not communicate. From Psalm 81 the Lord says There shall be no foreign god among you; you shall not bow down to an alien god.

But my people did not listen to my words; Israel would not submit to me

We have a God who is a jealous God Exodus 20.

I find it had to believe that God could be jealous but somehow it might be a translation problem that I don’t understand.

Later in Psalm 81 says, My people heard not my voice

Israel went into rebellion against David’s house.

Sounds like our country today.

Stop! No Politics!

God is not worried about politics.

He is worried and jealous about our relationship to Him.

In the Psalm He laments, If only my people would hear me.

Like all husbands and wives we sometime don’t communicate. It doesn’t mean we don’t love each other, but like all relationships we need to renew it.

The same is true with our relationship with God.

As we renew our relationships with our loved ones today. Don’t forget our relationship with God.

Mark’s Gospel says, Ephphatha that is be open. The secret is to listen.

Listen to God

Listen to your spouse

Listen to everyone around you.

Mostly Listen to God who yearns for us to listen to Him.

God love you always

  1. Thank you Bob. It is a day of and love…listening to the ones that love you. Happy Valentines Day to all at the Catholic Moment ☮️❤️✝️

  2. If I spent the same amount of time that I spend communicating and cultivating my relationship with God, communicating and cultivating my relationship with my wife or kids, would they feel loved? Would I even be married? If my relationship with God is the most important relationship in my life, how much time do and energy do I devote to that relationship? If I go to the ocean with a thimble, I get a thimble full of water, how much God do I want?
