Indeed, from his fullness we have, all of us , received, yes, grace in return for grace, since, though the Law was given through Moses, grace and truth have come through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God; it is the only Son, who is nearest to the Father’s heart, who has made him known.
As our calender year closes, we say goodbye to strife, pandemics and troubles. The new year will have strife, pandemics and troubles of it’s own. However, right now we will have a blank slate as of midnight tonight. Tomorrow, we start anew.
I think it is important to look back and see how we got through the year. Grace and truth is what allowed us to get through this year and and tomorrow it is what will allow us to get through next year. We never can succeed on our own strength. It is through grace and truth and having a relationship with Jesus Christ.
We received the grace of a Savior on Christmas and His legacy to us today is truth. The truth of what is evil and what is good. In the Garden with Adam and Eve, Satan told the lie, that eating the prohibited fruit would make man more like God. The truth is that it will not. Over the centuries we want to do it more our way and not God’s way.
From the Book of Genisis we know that Adam was standing next to Eve and did not stop her and he ate of the fruit himself. Jesus Christ came into the world and told the truth and through the grace of his birth and rising from the dead, gave us the grace to eliminate sin in our lives.
We have a New Year ahead of us and the grace of Jesus Christ give us hope.
Happy New Year!
God Love you Always!
