Friday, December 22nd, in Third Week of Advent

What most people don’t realize is the words of the Gospel of Luke in the are the words of Mary. She was present at the birth and death of her son, Jesus. The Apostles were not present at the beginning. Stop and think! These were the words of the mother of Our Lord and Savior. These words were a form of eulogy and historical reference for her son, Jesus Christ. Just like over the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, your family will tell stories and make new ones. You will add to your family history. This is what Mary was doing in her dialog with Saint Luke. These first few chapters are intensely reflective and personal. Again, they are the words of Mary.

The Magnificat !

Mary is our mother too. Now I make him over to the Lord for the whole of his life. He is made over to the Lord.’. Mary like Hannah before her did just that. My wife, Anna and I were married in February of 2000. With the Lord’s Blessing we will be married 24 years. The song with Mary’s words by John Michael Talbot called “Holy is His Name” was one of our wedding songs. As you might suspect it is one of our favorite songs. One of the lines that is our message today is, “For the mighty God has done great things for me An His mercy will reach from age to age.” May this prayer reach the lonely and forgotten this Holy Season.

My pray is that God will do great things for you this Christmas!

God Love You Always
