His hour had not yet come.
Two weeks ago I had a doctor’s appointment . It was my first visit and I had to submit information online. In the process at the end of my submission I must of inadvertently canceled the appointment. My computer skills are not the best. I was unaware of my mistake and showed up early for my appointment. The surprise was I didn’t have one. This week I rescheduled and had my visit. No big deal. It wasn’t my time.
Our first reading today was from the Book of Wisdom which was written approximately 50 years before the birth of Christ. It was amazingly how prophetic it was. It came true only 50 years later.
When we pray we trust God will answer us. Nonetheless, we also expect it right now. Sometimes the delay is because it was not the time for God to answer according to His plan.
One of my favorite motivating scriptures is Matthew 28:17-20. It is called the “Great Commission”. When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted. Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”
Jesus being with me is comforting but how do I know what His will for me is? His will is only part of the question. When does that will become apparent to us? When is our time? It seems that the Will of God and His time to answer may becentered around the Great Commision.
1] All power in heaven and on earth is given to Jesus.
2] Go and make disciples of all people.
3] Teaching to observe His commands and obeying them ourselves.
4] When is the time? Jesus is with us always so our time is now.
My wife, Anna, and I have been praying for one of our grandchildren who is a drug addict. He is currently on medication that makes him not want those drugs. Is it his time? Yes, because no matter what happens, Jesus is with us. We don’t know if the medication will be permanent but for now it is. Now is the time.
No matter how bad things look in our lives, the time is now. Jesus is with us.
The time for Jesus in John Chapter 7 had not yet come. The time for our lives has come. Jesus is with us and there is hope. Our time is now. Don’t loose sight of that.
God Love You Always
