Gamaliel and Saint Paul, even if they did not know each other, were contemporaries. From what little biblical information, we have they were both scriptural scholars. Saint Paul thought he was doing God’s bidding. Assuming Gamaliel has the same motive, he knew that fighting God would never work.

Have you tried to argue with God?

When I was younger and before I was married, I had girlfriends that I just knew would make the perfect wife, but our relationship never matured. I prayed that it would develop but it never did. I prayed it would, but God’s answer was “No!”

There are simple observations that we can ascertain the mind of God and His will for us. God will never ask you to commit a sin in order to do His will. He may ask you to spontaneously call a friend or give money to a homeless person on the street. I often admired a High School classmate named Paul. He had an uncle who was a mortician and when he graduated, he became one for 40 years.

Now in many countries we will be asked to vote this year. Now I am not going to discuss politics. If anyone asks you what side I am on, I have to say, that I am on God’s side. Prayer is the best and only remedy. Yes, I have voted and made the wrong choice. Not to worry! God is still in charge. I trust He will in His Justice make us humbler and His Justice will win.

Choices, Choices!

My right foot was giving me trouble. I would walk allot to clear my head at work. I had the opposite of a “Hammer Toe” on my Right foot. My foot went North South, but my Great toe went NNW. The operation was a success, but what if it did not come out as I had planned? It would still be God’s way.

The best takeaway for today is to remember to take me out of the equation and insert God. Mother Teresa’s prayer:

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

All we can do is follow the commandments and love God and our neighbor. God’ way will be our highway!

God Love You Always

Yes, voting for God is the true way but while I’m still living here on earth in the good ole USA, I’ll vote for the lesser of two evils.

  2. Thank you Bob for your faith filled reflection.Mother Teresa’s prayer is a fitting end to it.
