What gain, then, is it for a man to win the whole world and ruin his life? And indeed, what can a man offer in exchange for his life?

For if anyone in this adulterous and sinful generation is ashamed of me and of my words, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.’

It seems that during my whole life, I have noticed a tug of war between me and God. There is what He wants and what I want. Guess who always wins. Still, in life we have choices and when our choices coincide with what God wants, we are the happiest as humans.

Our first reading is the story of the Tower of Babel. Man in his arrogance was not listening to the voice of God that we are born. Nonetheless, God took the sins of man for His uses to spread the population throughout the Earth. Every generation since then has to learn the lesson of the tower of Babel again and again. This realization doesn’t the ego of the fragile humans. We are all flawed and if we wise up we can learn from our mistakes and the mistakes of others.

The problem is recognizing that our evil nature must be overcome by the will of God. God’s plan for us is much better for our physical, mental and spiritual health rather than the towers and walls that we build. Lent will begin March 5th. The Church and Dioceses are preparing liturgies and penitential services in advance. It is not that far away. Preparation for our life and happiness on Earth coincides with the preparation of our life in Heaven.

As I mentioned earlier, every generation has to relearn God’s plan for their lives is much better than what they can come up with. I have a long prayer list of people with whom I pray who are still building towers and walls and trying to buck the system. Keep praying for those in your life that are doing the same thing. I never deny the power of prayer or the mercy of God.

For if anyone in this adulterous and sinful generation is ashamed of me and of my words, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.’

I am not ashamed of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God’s plan is always the best for me happiness and more importantly my eternal happiness.

It is never to early to plan for a good Lent and Easter Season. Make plans to succeed to perform works of faith, hope, charity and penance to build the spiritual tower of eternal happiness for our souls.

God Love You Always
