Wednesday, February 5, The Lord’s kindness is everlasting to those who fear him.

GLORIOUS AUTUMN, GLORIOUS GOD…Amen!  Picture by Michael Goldbach

The Holy Spirit inspired our blog.

Memorial of Saint Agatha, Virgin and Martyr

R.   The Lord’s kindness is everlasting to those who fear him.

Bless the LORD, O my soul;

    and all my being, bless his holy name.

Bless the LORD, O my soul,

    and forget not all his benefits.

R.

As a father has compassion on his children,

    so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him,

For he knows how we are formed;

    he remembers that we are dust.

R.

But the kindness of the LORD is from eternity

    to eternity toward those who fear him,

And his justice toward children’s children

    among those who keep his covenant.

Emphasis mine: Psalm 103:1-2, 13-14, 17-18a

What an interesting day this has been, and it’s only 9:49 am.

When we sat down to write our Blog, I, yes I, thought the Holy Spirit wanted to write about: For what “son” is there whom his father does not discipline? I copied the phrase, and when I went to paste it in the blog, it disappeared.  I tried it a second time with the same result, that’s when I woke up that this was not what The Holy Spirit wanted, sooooooo we copied and pasted what The Holy Spirit wanted.

This occurred after we visited the man we have been bringing Communion to for the past few months, to remind him that he said he would go to Daily Mass starting Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  He went on Monday forgetting Saint Maximilian Kolbe Church doesn’t have Mass on Monday, BUT he got up and went, and after Mass at St. Bartholomews, we walked into his condo, he was all smiles, he had made a mistake, BUT he had tried, and the try brought JOY, and it’s JOY that helping him overcome his pain, and he has been in pain for a years.

I left giving praise and thanks to my Father, “Thank you Father,” a number of times.  What a change this man has experienced.  For months we prayed for a healing, and God answered our prayer, not the way we wanted, but in a better way, he is learning how to control the pain, by living in Joy , and when we ask him how he is, he responded – I’m FANTASTIC!”

For me, he is living proof that you are who you say you are, and not being FANTASTIC is a sin.  We have life, with a God, Father, who knew you before creation, a Brother who shed His blood so you, a sinner, might be justified, and The Holy Spirit, who can effect real change in your life if you allow them.  On top of all of that, I have the privilege of going to daily Mass, and touching Jesus (God), and entering into a Celestial Dance with a God of OUTRAGEOUS Love.  It doesn’t get any better.

Yes, I’m Fantastic!

We also wanted to spend a few moments on the word fear.

 The Lord’s kindness is everlasting to those who (fear) him.

Back in the nineties, I was asked by Bill Cook to learn the seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

wisdom, understanding, councel, strength, knowledge, fear (Awe) of the Lord, and delight in the fear(Awe) of the Lord. This is what I learned.

wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of God. This is what is being taught now.

Fear of God is, in this context, “filial” or chaste fear whereby we revere God and avoid separating ourselves from him—as opposed to “servile” fear, whereby we fear punishment (I/II.67.4; II/II.19.9).  https://www.catholic.com/magazine/print-edition/the-seven-gifts-of-the-holy-spirit

The Bible I had at that time said fear and then placed Awe in parentheses (awe).  At first, I wasn’t going to learn them until I saw the word awe.  The question that was in my, yes, my mind, was how could I fear God who sent My brother to climb up on a Cross to Justify me and had The Holy Spirit infused into my Soul at Baptism,  I didn’t believe I could.  The word AWE changed everything.  I, yes I, am in AWE at everything, starting with the salvation story, and next all that I see around me.  Everything is created by God, and our weekly pictures clearly show this.

So yes,  The Lord’s kindness is everlasting to those who fear him.

Prayer:

If you have a difficulty;

Thank God the Father for the Death of His Son, the Nails that were driven into His Hands, and the Nail that was driven into His Feet, and next pray:

“Thank you, Father, for the difficulty of …………….. (NAME YOUR DIFFICULTY) ….. You have ALLOWED in my life I have FAITH that you will take care of me.” Repeat this prayer until you smile, as smiling tells you that the Holy Spirit is back in your life.

Sidebar:

In Fr. Richard Rohr’s daily blog:

People do need healing, even a major “exorcism”! While we tend to send them to therapists instead of holy people, in general, the only cure for negative possession is a positive repossession! Jesus is always “repossessing” people—for themselves and for God.

The demoniac’s “growth” is not about becoming less sinful, but more joyful.

Emphasis mine Richard Rohr’s Daily Meditations 1/27/25

We reported above about a man who became “Fantastic,” whose life is NOT now being run by his pain. He went back to work, and I asked him how many steps he took this past month, and he took out his phone and pulled up a walking app we both use and it said 190,000 steps, and this only started less than ten days ago.  Daily when he works, he’s walking 16,000 plus steps.  A month ago he couldn’t walk 1,000 steps, I hope you see why I am so pumped.

I also believe we all suffer from negative possessions.  We listen to satan, and throw out God.  For example, many are caught up in the “Politics of the day.”  You voted, move on, or I don’t have enough money, or I may lose my health, and the list goes on.  TRUST GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU is the only advice we can give, and become “FANTASTIC” when you see God working in your life.

For those who would respond, “I don’t see God working in my life,” look harder.  God is there twenty-four-seven.  You wouldn’t exist without the OUTRAGEOUS Love of God.

You are who you say you are.  The next time someone asks how you are, respond, and then think about your response.  Maybe you said, “I’m OK, or I’m Great,or not so good, or I hurt, or I’m FANTASTIC!  It’s your choice, start living a life you may not have known existed.

We have many people receiving our blog by email.  If for some reason you don’t get the weekly Blog contact me, and we will try and correct the issue.
