the Kingdom of God is at hand

A simple sentence to shake us back to reality. Often while we go about our everyday lives, we dont realise how finite our time is here on earth.

This week I witnessed a sudden death of a patient who was happy cheerful and extremely positive at 75 years of age. While she was diagnosed with caner and had undergone a surgery, her sudden cardiac arrest made me contemplate the sudden reality of how we all will eventually die someday and leave this world alone.

I often think of life after death , maybe I will see my patients , maybe I will be burning in hell for all the misdeeds I have committed. I am unsure how if I will get to confess my sins and absolution will be attained prior to death.

The lfe we live is finite but the kingdom of god is at hand and we often dismiss it as something we shall se when we get there. But we are there at some day some point. No one knows it.

Let us be one of the disciples that God chose to spread love in the world and spread His word to everyone through our words and actions. I saw the daughter of the patient sob uncontrollably and could not help myself from tearing up reminding myself how finite is the time we have with family and friends an dhow we dedicate everything to work and career and ambition and forget to live the finer aspects of life.

It is time of the year dedicated to Mother Mary , Let us pray with folded hands that she takes our petitions to Lord and asks for forgiveness and enables us to be better humans and see the Kingdom at hand

Amen!
