Friday, June 12th in Ordinary Time

When my arthritic joints told me long ago that my running days were over. Eventually, I got into a real fondness for speed walking. When I worked at call centers, I would walk on breaks and lunch. A recent radio program spoke of the same 26 bones in our feet and the same bones in animals and how over time some of those bones have fused, but still the same 26 bones.

We are meant to walk with Lord using those 26 bones to follow metaphorically the way of the Lord. Psalm 27:11-14 LORD, show me your way; lead me on a level path because of my enemies. Do not abandon me to the desire of my foes; malicious and lying witnesses have risen against me. I believe I shall see the LORD’s goodness in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD, take courage; be stout hearted, wait for the Lord

Seems like I have been waiting all my life, but then I have tried to walk with the Lord all my like. Just like Adam in the Garden of Eden. I have walked and being human have often failed but the Lord was there all the time, and we continue to walk. One day that walk will be in Paradise.

I feel sorry for those who can not walk with the Lord. The troubles of the world will always be there but so is our walking partner, Jesus Christ. He had the same 26 bones in His feet as we do. Many people fought against the truth of His message then and many fight against the truth of His message now. Not everyone will like you or be your friend, but you do have a walking partner who had human troubles and understands us. Our struggles may be up hill and never ending but we do have a partner who together with the Holy Spirit, help us get there.

God Love You Always

  1. “Oh, my Lord , if I go to the mountain heights You are there and If I sink to the ocean’s depth You are there.” Excellent reminder Bob, that Jesus is ever with us!!
Thank You for asking for prayers for caregivers!!! I don’t have cancer, but my wife is ‘my’ caregiver. She LOVES me. I know. But she also gets tired & frustrated. My bride is truly God sent.

  2. Thank you Bob. Love the thought of Jesus walking with us on our journeys…up, down and on the straight paths of life keeping us on course. Peace with you my brother.
