“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my savior.
for he has looked upon his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
        and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
        in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
and has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children for ever.”

The Fiat of Mary is the latin word for “let it be done”. The acceptance of Mary to the promise of Lord with this prayer – gives me goose bumps and chills ! How a teenage virgin girl from a tiny village accepted God with so much faith , not once did she question the validity or the outcome! Nor did she overthink herself for being so naive, she didnt ask 10 other people for their opinion by posting it on social media or just panic and with anxiety stood unable to make a decision! Yes those are scenarios in my head when I am faced with situations I do not like!

I am amazed how the faith of Mary is so abundant and strong and we are called to imitate her in our faith ! As I end a year and move onto a new one , I am still in fear if all will be okay and my hopes will come true! I aspire my faith to be strong and unwavering like Mary especially when nothing goes how I expected !

The season of the new Lord is near and we are moving towards accepting Him, this new year let us learn to experience Him! I know it is harder done than said – maybe a little more focus on how we respond and behave in accordance to our faith! It is tough especially when the world dictates a totally different behaviour! coming from a competitive field and constant change, some days I feel so disappointed in my self for not doing my best and working hard enough! The self doubt and imposter syndrome plague me alot more than I want!

I want a faith like Mary with so much calm and grace to put others ahead of me ( very tough ) especially when I am in hard situations! It is going to be tough and most often the inner voice says “why bother ?!” but we have to pass on the goodwill handed to us to others ( my mom says this ) .

Focus on accepting the newborn Jesus with similar Fiat as Mary His mother and move on in life with utmost faith in the Lord in good and bad, in sickness and in health!

PRAYER

Guide me oh Mother of God to have unwavering faith like you in the Lord Almighty in good and bad times in life! Help me to believe in His power and have patience and faith for the outcome!

AMEN.
