Trust in the LORD forever!
        For the LORD is an eternal Rock.
    He humbles those in high places,
        and the lofty city he brings down;
    He tumbles it to the ground,
        levels it with the dust.
    It is trampled underfoot by the needy,
        by the footsteps of the poor.

My Lord is my rock. My family is my support, yes like every one, we have our disagreements more often than we like. We have issues and conflicts on almost a daily basis but despite it all I know I would do anything in my power to keep it together!

Today , we read about how Jesus expects us to build our lives around His faith and it would amuse me , watching my parents so faithful to Jesus through their prayers and following the church, still have so many flaws of envy, contempt, gossip and worse pride!! I always would wonder if is that being faithful or actually being a better person and emulating Christ through our words or deeds.

This advent as I read a daily reflection about the growth of my spiritual life and faith across 4 weeks while I sit with dad through his post operative recovery, I realise how much harder it is being a relative of a patient at hospital. From waiting in lines to pick medicines at ungodly hours at night or waiting for hours for the oncologist.

My eyes have been opened to being on the other side of the situation and it was not pleasant. But as I do my best to spread my faith through small good deeds, what struck me was the positivity and the Christ like attitude from most of the relatives of patients, who guided me through the appointment system and helped me when I was lost for directions! Literally..

This advent, I dont just want to read the word of God and decorate my house and order presents, I want to experience Christ through a regular human being who helps me find my way along the line at the pharmacy, or the doctor who spoke sweetly to my dad when he was terrified on the operating table. My coworker who despite his hectic schedule, made it a point to visit my parents while he couldnt make it for his sons birthday!

As the season of hope begins, let us as believers focus on being better humans then building wreaths or adding another prayer to our list! Actions do speak louder than words especially to the Lord!

PRAYER:

Lord, I submit my life at your feet and ask for your deliverance from the chaos in my life! Help me to use my empathy and be a better human and doctor where ever I go!

AMEN
