Thursday 8th July 2021- Repent or not!

I apologise for the delay in uploading as I was travelling out of state for my exams ( which were not up to the mark) and had no much time or internet connectivity for me to upload.

While I reflect on the days gospel, and listen to the instructions Jesus gives out to His disciples, I wonder whether I would even agree to do those very steps. It is a hard life devoting yourself to God and the clergy has my full respect but when my non believer friends ask me about the scandals in the church past and new discovered, I cant but shrug my shoulders and say ” i believe in HIM and the holy trinity” …

I have no answer to give on why bad things happen , all I can say is we repent for them as members of the faith and would ask for forgiveness. I dislike the resentment I face from my peers about the accusations and the way matters are handled but I also believe my faith is not affected by it.

Just like one bad apple can ruin the package, I do hope these bad apples are sorted and kept aside.

PRAYER:

Forgive me Lord for having lost my way towards you repeatedly. Help me and guide me find my way back and repent, I want to be in your kingdom and help me journey along with you and not deviate by my worldly mindset.

AMEN.

  1. “In the end my heart will triumph” said our Blessed Mother in Marjugorie. She predicted great challenges to the seat of Peter, and chastisement in the Church. The bad revelations in the Church are done by people who should be upholding Her Doctrines (Catechism of the Catholic Church), but have failed. Our Faith as Catholics cannot and should not be affected because we still believe in the Holy Eucharist that we celebrate everyday and the Sacraments are there to guide us. My strength as a Catholic is through the Holy Rosary that comforts my spirit and I know we are not wrong to be believing Catholics… MD

  2. There have always been sinners in the Church established be Christ. He himself knowingly chose one who was a thief and betrayed him for money, two who were mostly interested in their own career advancements, a leader who denied knowing him when he was arrested and tortured, and others who all except one, John, ran away when he was dying. Yet this mixed bag managed to later spread the Gospel through most of the known world. The Church doesn’t have to only have perfect people. God can work with us sinners.

  3. God can work with sinners. Jesus himself chose 12 to found his Church. One was a thief and betrayed him for money, two were mostly concerned with their own career advancements, and the leader denied knowing him when he was arrested. And all except one ran away when he was dying. Yet this unlikely bunch later bravely spread the Word to most of the known world.

  4. I hope and pray your exams went ok (even if you felt they were not). It is a lot to travel, take exams, stress of connectivity that we rely on so much now, and your devotion to these reflections. I pray you can rest and regroup.

  6. Sinners we are, repent we will. This is the grace we have been blessed with if we choose to use it. If others choose a different path we dust ourselves off and move on. Thanks Dr A. And wishing you well with exams.

  7. Jesus told Peter “… the the gates of hell shall never prevail against the church”. My perspective on the scandals is that the church is being purged and purified. Sometimes the sca dals shock us but we are comforted by God’s promises. So we will not let our faith and hope be distracted by these events. God is still in charge and his plan continues to unfold. Today’s first reading is a good example of God turning around evil for good. Dr.Analise your reflections are always greatly appreciated. May God grant you success in your exams.
