One that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book; and out of gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind shall see.
When my granddaughter, Victoria, was 6 years-old she was riding in the car with my wife, Anna. The windows were down and the pedestrian walk sign was making noises. Victoria who is now 12 and doing fine asked my wife why their was a noise. My wife said it is so that blind people would know that it was safe to cross the street.
There was a very long pause. My granddaughter said,” Why are blind people driving? They shouldn’t be driving.!” Pause….My wife had to pull over. She couldn’t stop laughing.
As Jesus passed by, two blind men followed him, crying out, “Son of David, have pity on us!” When he entered the house, the blind men approached Him and Jesus said to them, ” Do you believe that I can do this?” ” Yes, Lord,” they said to him. Then He touched their eyes and said, ” Let it be done for you according to your faith.” And their eyes were opened.
It is interesting to note that our faith is important for Jesus to work miracles in our lives. Myself, I may not have the faith of a mustard seed, but I do believe.
How do we increase that faith?
It seems sometimes that we have so much in our lives that we don’t need God and others we are looking for Him. Nonetheless, God is there. The two blind men must have heard from others about all the miracles Jesus had done in towns around theirs. For the first time in their lives they heard that the impossible could happen. The could see.
Today we are looking for the right vaccine. We are looking in all the wrong places, if we are not looking to Jesus. Even if the right vaccine comes along, it wont mean we will not get the virus, because it will not mean that our loved ones or us wont get the virus. We are looking also for a cure.
The Psalm today is Psalm 27: 13 I believe that I shall se the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living which is similar to another one of my favorite Psalms .(Ps 116:9) I will walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living. Both are similar and two of my favorite Psalms.
Jesus’s message is simple. By walking with Jesus everyday we will increase our faith and the miracles that each one of us needs will happen. We may be blind or die from some illness. However, our walk with the Lord is the miracle. Whatever trials, tribulations and tensions we face. We will lead to peace in our souls, because our companion is the Lord. Jeremiah 29:11 God has a plan for your life, a plan to prosper and not to harm.
Praying for all in need today. Pray for their miracle.
