THURSDAY 30TH JULY- open our heart!

I was rushing late to work as usual .. and made myself a healthy bowl of oats and cranberries to take a bite and face the most excruciating pain ever in my mouth! I had encountered my worst nightmare … a toothache!

So I did the most obvious next step, visited the dentist and was told “extraction required “… and my night mare came to life..I was so uneasy and anxious on the days leading up to the surgery.. I couldnt get a good nights sleep.. I missed my mother more than ever …

I finally would sit up in my room and say the rosary!! shut my eyes tight and pray hard and furiously for strength and lo and behold I could feel the peace and calm settle in and then get decent sleep.

And the D day arrived and when I he said … “open your mouth ” everything seemed to blur in the background… I gave in to the dentist with complete surrender…with complete trust that he wont hurt me!!

Today Jesus calls us to open our hearts.. one which is riddled full of stress , anxiety and worst.. sinfulness!!! Everyday we fall trap to the perils of the world and forget that the Lord is there to guide us! All we need to do is open our hearts and surrender with complete trust as we do in humans .. and focus on being a good human!

Harder than we think it is?! Sometimes the snarky comment, the lies, the lustful thoughts just cloud our judgement and we tend to deviate from what we are supposed to do to what feels right… let us have the courage to open our hearts and believe in His word!

PRAYER: Help me Lord to have faith in you! I apologies for not having trust in your ways and worrying . Help me and guide me to do better every day and lay my faith in you! Amen.

  1. What a wonderful way to start the day and it’s right on point as I lost my mother I’m filled with all the anxiety and stress and sorrow and I feel like a yo-yo because sometimes I’m OK and then I don’t want to let her go. I read a little further on and saw the advertisement for the kind ecologist and her quest to help and teach others about that having abortions which I’m also very much opposed to if I had five children or girls Thank you Lord for sending this great information to me to my other sister going to the funeral this weekend way more sense of opening my heart and my selfish ways of not wanting to fully let go of her. I’m sorry for all my sins and I will make the best efforts to avoid them

  5. Some thoughts to share:

Today’s first and gospel readings are full of parables. The image of God as a potter while we are clay in His hands is beautiful imagery. The potter (God) lovingly works the clay (us) into a particular shape He has in mind. But most often the shape has to be worked and re-worked. God continues patiently to mold the clay, even softening it with His tears to make it pliable. God has given us a mind and free will and we decide whether we want to be shaped into God’s plans.

Jesus compares the scribes to the father in the family. Parents are responsible for the life of the family and transmit the faith and wisdom they have received to their children. Jesus wants the people who are responsible for the faith in the community to be like a father within a family. Parents, teachers, priests, nuns, catechists, the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation – assist God in molding his people for the Kingdom of heaven.

At the end of time, God will cast His net into the sea of humanity and haul in the catch. Sadly, some will have to be thrown into the fiery furnace. To the righteous He will say, “Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” (Mathew 25:34)
